The state of Georgia has experienced a great deal of change throughout its short history. The establishment of the colony enabled individuals to begin a new life in a new world. After the American Revolution, the state began to expand west and grow into its present day boundaries. The Civil Rights Movement brought a great number of changes to the state; however, in the following decades Georgia began to not only change socially but also economically and politically. Through these developments the state has now received a place within the national and international arena.
